Gita Jnana Yajna
It is a well known fact for the followers of Sanatana Dharma, that whoever memorises and recites the 18 chapters of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, and passes the examination conducted at Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham is awarded a cash price of Rs. 21,000 /- Hundreds of Astikas from all parts of the world and coming from diverse backgrounds, have been regularly participating in this Gita Jnana Yajna.

Ganapati temple in Bharati Street - Sringeri
On 7th July 2014 Monday, the Jagadguru graced the Ganapati Devasthanam at a place called Kattebagilu in Bharati Street in Sringeri and had Darshan of the Aarati to Lord Ganapati on the occasion of the renovation and PunaH Pratishtha of the temple.

Prathama Ekadashi
On 8th July 2014, Prathama Ekadashi was observed at the Peetham. The Jagadguru observed Kasthta Mounam on this day. The Pathashala Senior Vidyarthis and Adhyapakas performed Parayanam of the entire Rig Veda and Yajur Veda. Ganapati Atharva Sirsha Parayana and Abhisheka to Thorana Ganapati and Shakti Ganapati also took place. A special Tulasi Archana and Aarati took place at Janardana Swamy temple in the afternoon.

Sri Ganesha Chaturthi and Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidvat Sadas 2014
The Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata, occuring on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi, will be observed at Sringeri on the 29th of August. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will offer special puja to Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka at Gurunivas in Narasimhavanam.
The annual Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sadas will be held this year in the august presence of the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji at Sringeri.

Workshop on Indian History & Culture at Sringeri
In the last weekend of July 2014 (26 and 27 July), a two day awareness workshop on the importance of studying the history and culture of India was organized by the Shankara Advaita Research Centre of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham for the undergraduate students of Jagadguru Chandrashekhara Bharati Memorial college, Rajiv Gandhi Kendriya Samskrita Vidyapeetham, and the Sringeri Pathashala.

Vacharambhana-sruthyartha-vivechanam
A passage from the Chandogya Upanishad which is pregnant with profound import and popularly known as the ‘Vacharambhana Sruti’, has often been cited by Bhagavatpada in His commentaries on the Brahma Sutras, Upanishads and in His other treatises as an authoritative scriptural passage establishing the illusoriness of the universe.
